How to get to Berlin
When we first came up with the idea to hold the 2018 World Meetings in Berlin, we still hoped that the brand new airport with many direct connections would be open by then. As you may have heard, this has been delayed (for about the 18th time) to at least 2021. Nevertheless, the old airports Tegel and Schönefeld still operate. There are also train connections below five hours from Germany’s main airports Frankfurt and Munich, as well as from Hamburg and Prague, which might increase your travel options.

Restaurants and Conference Dinner
There are many restaurants within 10 minute walking distance. In the map, the pink colored area is particularly dense, but there are further options in the side streets. Unfortunately, some restaurants are rather tourist traps. We added addresses for a number that are at least decent, but not all the others are bad. People with a Berlin affiliation should be able to give further advice. The map also shows the point of departure for the conference dinner (see “boat trip” sign). You will get a copy of this map at the registration desk.
